Straddling Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Pench derives its name from the Pench River, which flows through its core, providing lifeblood to its ecosystems. The reserve’s history dates back to the 17th century when the Gond rulers preserved parts of the forests. Declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1977 and a tiger reserve in 1992, Pench has become one of India’s most well-managed reserves.

Its teak and bamboo forests and undulating terrain offer a picturesque setting. Pench is known for its thriving population of tigers, wild dogs, and leopards, as well as prey species like chital and nilgai. Its role in Kipling’s The Jungle Book adds to its allure.

With over 200 bird species, including hornbills and kingfishers, it’s also a haven for bird enthusiasts.

Offering an immersive wildlife experience with jeep safaris and bird-watching, the camp provides opportunities to see tigers, leopards, elephants, and a variety of bird species. Its location within the forest ensures a close affinity with the wildlife.
