Located on the banks of the Kabini River, this sanctuary is famous for its moist deciduous forests, river habitats, lush greenery, and diverse wildlife, including a high density of elephants and regular sightings of leopards and tigers, with bird species such as the Osprey and Malabar pied hornbill.

Managed by JLR and originally a hunting lodge for the Mysore Maharaja, Kabini River Lodge is located on the riverbanks and known for excellent wildlife sightings, offering boat and jeep safaris.
