Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

EXPERIENCE THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve
Located in Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh has a rich history intertwined with nature and royalty. The centerpiece of the reserve is the ancient Bandhavgarh Fort, believed to date back over 2,000 years, mentioned in Hindu texts like the Skanda Purana. The fort served as a strategic military post and later as a royal hunting ground for the Rewa dynasty.

Declared a national park in 1968, Bandhavgarh became a tiger reserve in 1993 under Project Tiger. Today, it boasts one of the highest tiger densities in India. The reserve spans dense sal forests, grasslands, and bamboo thickets, supporting a variety of wildlife, including leopards, sloth bears, sambar deer, and over 250 bird species. Its iconic meadows, such as Chakradhara and Rajbhera, are hotspots for tiger sightings.
