Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary

EXPERIENCE THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary

Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary is a hidden gem nestled in the Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, India. Spread across an area of approximately 148.63 square kilometers, this sanctuary is a thriving habitat for diverse flora and fauna and is increasingly becoming a favored spot for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, and eco-tourists.

Tipeshwar lies close to the borders of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, making it accessible for travelers from multiple states. It forms part of the Deccan plateau, characterized by dry deciduous forests, undulating terrain, and small hillocks.

Tipeshwar boasts a rich Southern Tropical Dry Deciduous Forest type as classified by the Indian Forest Survey. The sanctuary consists of Teak (Tectona grandis) as the dominant tree species, along with tendu, mahua, bamboo, and bel. These forests provide a vital corridor for wildlife movement and act as a biodiversity hotspot in the region.

This sanctuary serves as a crucial tiger habitat, connected via forest corridors to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve and Kawal Tiger Reserve, allowing for free movement of big cats and other mammals.
